Week 2 Photo Shoot
ASSIGNMENT: 10 photos of objects, indoor and outdoor.
CONCEPT
To fulfill the assignment task of collecting 10 good photos.
CRAFT
I used a GE 12.2 megapixel camera, always without flash and occasionally with macro on. For my indoor shots, I used my desk with the lamp on. I shot my outdoor photos on the sidewalk at sunset.
COMPOSITION
I selected a variety of different objects in texture, color, and size. I was eager to get shots of them from abstract angles utilizing the lighting. Most of my photos have only one object in it, except for some which can easily be cropped. I tried to photograph items that stood out from their background, but obviously I made exceptions.
The photo above is my personal favourite of all the shots I took. While the background and object are similar in color, the texture breaks them up. I enjoy the way the sunset reflects off of the sidewalk and also illuminates the slinky itself. Because the slinky is metal, the light gives a nice gloss. The way the slinky casts shadows upon itself is my favourite aspect of the photo.
